Internal Wall Insulation

Internal wall insulation can be used in both commercial and residential properties to improve indoor comfort and boost energy efficiency.

What is Internal Wall Insulation?

Internal wall insulation is the process of applying insulation to the inner face of exterior walls to increase the property’s thermal efficiency. Interior wall insulation boards are normally bonded or screwed to the walls and runs from the ground floor all the way up to the eaves level, where it reaches the roof insulation. Its aim is to provide a complete internal layer of insulation to keep the building warm.

Types of indoor wall insulation

  • Rigid foam insulation boards (PIR) – It is a type of thermal insulation developed from polyurethane and is one of the most used material in construction that is primarily used for pitched walls, floors, and pitched roofs.
  • Insulated plasterboard is a typical building material that consists of a single sheet of regular plasterboard or gypsum board sandwiched between two sheets of insulating material.
